Balabolka is a versatile Text-To-Speech (TTS) program designed to convert written text into spoken audio. It leverages all computer voices installed on your system, making them available for reading. The application supports a wide array of document formats, allowing users to view and read text directly from files such as CHM, DjVu, DOC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, ODT, PDF, and RTF.
Beyond basic text reading, Balabolka offers extensive customization options, including the ability to adjust font and background color, and control reading via the system tray or global hotkeys. It utilizes various versions of Microsoft Speech API (SAPI) to enable alterations to a voice’s parameters, such as rate and pitch.
